The Way, The Truth, and The Light. "HAPPY EASTER!"
He was a man of simple birth - a poor man's son I'm told.

Back in AD thirty-one, or was it thirty-two,
I met a man called Jesus, whom many people knew.

He was no king with flashing jewels, nor robes of finest gold,
he was a man of simple birth, a poor man's son I'm told.

For many days and many months, he walked throughout the land,
with words of peace and gentle love, and an open healing hand.

For this they beat him with a whip, and took him up a hill,
and nailed him to a bloody cross, for a fate he must fulfill.

But when I stood beneath that cross, where his precious blood did flow,
my mind was filled with many thoughts, of things I did not know.

"Come forth my son," he spoke to me, in a weak and dying tone,
"Do not weep for me I ask, for we are not alone."

"For on this day a pledge was kept, by my father up above,
to offer me in sacrifice, for his undying love."

Then suddenly from my eyes did flow, a flood of joy and tears,
for in my mind and in my heart, there was no hate, no pain, no fears.

When they took him from the cross, and laid him down to rest,
my thoughts were filled with guilt and shame, deep sorrow filled my chest.

My mind was filled with the gentle words, he had spoken from the hill,
to turn the cheek and never hurt, especially not to kill.

To pray for those who curse and use, and those who hate and rile,
please talk to God in open ways, and to walk that extra mile.

For several days and several nights, I sought to find a way,
to heed the deeds and gentle words, I had heard that summer day.

Then to my surprise and perfect joy, I learned that He did live,
twas only his body and not his spirit, that God demand he give.

Off I ran, my spirits high, to the far Tiberian Sea,
to find my friend, my King, my Lord, and to bend my STUBBORN knee.

When I arrived upon that shore, near a boat and net with fish,
there stood my Lord with several men, eating quietly from a dish.

When He raised his bleeding head, and glanced up with a smile,
my heart did skip a roaring beat, and thundered for awhile.

With weakened legs and flowing tears, I crept up to His side,
but in my mind and in my thoughts, I knew that He had died.

As I glanced at the ugly scars, in His hands and on His feet,
I knew that He had returned to life, that His promise He did keep.

I will come again, for a second time, He smiled and shook his head,
and from the graves and from the sea, I will raise the honored dead.

So keep your faith, and spread My love, and I will mark you on My list,
and on that day when I return, you'll live in eternal bliss.
