A couple days off from the mischievous, devilish office
Where I spend my days,
Planning the next installment of an annual family
And friends camping get-together.
The beautiful, warm, and sunny state of Arizona
Our lucky destination.
Renewing old and cherished acquaintances
Amid the hills, trees, and shrubbery
Of a now familiar camp setting;
Pitching our sturdy, but flexible, sleeping accommodations
And wandering amongst the fairly dense woods
In search of firewood,
Chopping and cutting at the bark of old, but vulnerable trees
For our nighttime campfires.
Hiking and seeking natural wonders during the day,
Drinking, singing, and playing popular oldies
And classics at night;
Away from the drudgery, decision-making, and diligence
Of the able and lucrative, but oftentimes hard-to-handle
And impossible, company where I work.
Or so my relaxed and astute co-worker,
Who just returned, informs me during his lunch break.
Having not been on such a sweet and restful trip in a while,
I sure do miss going camping!
