My life was tragic unkempt unclean
and just like a rain cloud my sin hung over me,
I felt so ashamed at all the things that I had done
with no where to hide and no where to run;
everywhere I walked sin's temptation beckoned me
so worn and weary I could barely breathe,
felt like the world was resting on my shoulders
I was on my knees ready to give up thought my life was over.
but that was when the good news finally reached these wretched ears
it stole my heart and stirred my soul and I was moved to tears,
and ever since that day when a man named Jesus came
he broke the chains and set me free and now I've found a peace.
