Why Lord?

Why Lord is there such a trail of destruction behind me?
Am I so clumsy that I have to trip over my own stumbling blocks?
I can’t stand right without you helping me along,
You stand all fights that I come close to any true victory.
So I ask lord do you make things perfect just so I can screw them up?

You created human, substance, and habitat,
Then we have to do it with our own minds and bring about curse.
We had the perfect relationship, what other “god” can be walked with,
You are the only one!
But we would rather be alone.

You decide that we deserve purpose, hope, and peace.
But instead we search out all things to occupy empty heart space,
Look for temporary pushes,
And fight continually searching for an unreal utopia.
Your peace passes understanding,
A hope that we are able to be presented with true joy for we possess an evident faith,
And you created us to be the person of your creation to reach your children.

Because you’re a just and righteous God,
You present your only begotten for us.
The wrath had to be taken out and it was rightfully mine.
But lord you put it all on your son the sin and the punishment came all in a present of love.
Instead of accepting it we still spit in his face,
We say that we have received his spirit and salvation,
Yet our action only brings him more punishment.

Lord if for no other Christ died for me,
My inequity, sort comings, and impurity’s,
They put him on that tree,
And the nails in his hands and feet.
He has gone to the beating post to many times for me.

Lord why am I so pathetic and you still love me?
No matter what holes I’ve fallen in you still pull me out,
You’re not taking the pain for my intension no longer.
I give you my all with perseverance,
Help me lord to not give up on myself.
