ICE SKY

Ice Sky

The mountains rise against a sky
Of gray and cold this winter’s day.
Majestic pines bow to the winds,
While doe protect their young.

The low icy atmosphere,
Is thick with crystals clear.
Trees are wind chimes thick with ice,
As breezes cut through branches.

A wolf howls a mournful song.
A bear sleeps contently on.
Spring will have to rest for now,
And hold summer off at bay.

The mountains pierce through frozen sky,
Of chill and frost this winter’s day.
