Tribute to Tim Treadwell-"Grizzly Man"
This piece is dedicated and written for Tim Treadwell, who lived and filmed Grizzly Bears in the wild for many years, His Film is " Grizzly Man" and is well worth watching. Perhaps foolhardy,  his love and dedication is worth noting. He lived among them and is the only person I know to be so close to them. He and his fiancee were killed by a rogue bear on my birthday Oct.5th. So I wrote this for him and her. This is free form .  I love to write and he loved his bears. Take time to locate the film and watch it. To have deep love for something, is well illustrated in this film. Deep love that, across the board, applies in different ways to all of us. Thank you for reading this. S A Gibbins

    To Tim and His Bears

In awe I watched and marveled.
  What you captured with camera,
  I'll try with my pen.
And I do feel much of your sorrow.
I'm really nobody, but we are much alike.
You found your nitch in this world.
A way to express your feelings with might.
Me, well I'm still chasing a girl, Ha!
But we are both chasing a kind of love.
Yours, you found, expressed and smiled.
I'm patiently waiting for help from above.
I've tried everything else, walked the extra mile.
I couldn't get over how much like me,
you were, for what God has created.
How brave you were for all to see,
and did not care if you were berated.
I have the same fondness for bears,
the love of perfect creation, freedom.
You captured with lens, that will last for years,
for people to see what you were trying to say.
If you could have seen how (Hertzog) assembled
your 13 years, caught on camera.
And the musical arrangement. It made me settled.
Pure genius how it all fit the drama.
But now I have to admit, I am a bit pissed.
I never got to meet you.
The rainbows end, we all seem to miss.
The one you found right on que.
But I'm not mad enough to forget,
such a brave man that you were.
  I only regret that I couldn't walk
with you, in the "Maze of the Bears"
By the way Tim, you died on my birthday,
But then again, you lived on my birthday.
