A freestyle poem of loss
I'll remove all the curtains and pull back the blinds
Let in the bright sunlight an immoderation of shine
So I can see why you cry mascara black
Watch rivulets of ink become rivers of sad
Imparting its current to you and I
The lessons of histories we shall imbibe
As we're thrust along swiftly to drown but not die
My hopes would be crushed with out you at my side
And as I peer from the water I see light I let in
Forgotten by me when my childhood did end
Then abruptly I'm battered, shattered, and torn
Thrown about roughly like a ship in a storm
I wake upon a lovely shore, physically hurt, spiritually sore
And as I open my eyes, I have never pictured
A scene more beautiful then this new scripture
For before was a paradise with impunity from strife
For before me was a way to live basking in the light
And impulsively I reach to take up your hand
And grasp nothing and no one because you never reached land
And angst is filling me like a desert with sand
As your scream pierces me anguished and tormented
I turn from paradise for I was demented
See your petite form approach the dark mist
that your fragile body has no chance to miss
I imprudently try to dive in again
Hurting myself and committing nothing but sin
Because we've chosen different paths and acceptance is slow
But even with knowledge it's still a hard blow
My vision blurs as wetness obscures
My tears join yours in the river of ink
Its blackness impenetrable and my white tears sink
And I gaze at the paradise in which I've come to reside
Find myself sick and close my eyes
And in a flash its all gone and I'm in my dark mind
Unremoved curtains and in place blinds
Tell me it was a dream or a premonition
And as I sit grows does my suspicion
I must rip open open my windows to save your soul
So that rivers of ink leave us alone
And I grasp cloth in my hands and prepare for the light
Smiling to myself knowing I'll end this plight
So I'll remove all the curtains and pull back the blinds
Let in the bright sunlight an immoderation of shine
So I can see why you cry mascara black
Wipe tears away so we aren't taken back
To that dream of mine where we perished and died
Ill let the light in and end your lie
