THE SILENT SECRET

walking by this night,
i perceive to my wonder.
an unseen unknown might,
moving me to ponder.

after the warm shower,
this cooling calmness possessed,
the filled intellectual silence,
the peace of darkness addressed.

if i could only lock up ,
this peace and quietude,
no else where found ever,
in heart and attitude.

if be my talks enriched,
with this silence bewitched,
to ripe in hidden wisdom,
so my self be switched.

nocturnal lesson summarized,
if i do embrace,
a single washing retreat,
will bring me nightly grace.

concealing all unjust, untrue,
still unshaky and sound,
dear night teach me art!
so i also abound.
