Assassin of my soul

You live inside of me,
Yet you are your own life.
You slowly bribe me,
With love that can’t be declined.

You make up a heartfelt story,
So my strength weakens for your cause,
And let you come enjoy me,
Not to realize what I’ve lost.

You get your power,
By feeding off my soul.
Like a deadly rain shower,
You take a large toll.

I take it in at first,
Not paying any mind.
Then you slowly start,
To play with my heart,
And your damage, I can easily find.

You back me up into,
A corner of fear,
And know if I don’t run,
My death will soon be near.

My soul is the victim
Of your assassinating raid,
I’ll take the pain as it comes,
Time will heal me in the right place.
