About one of my experiences being a semi-pro football cheerleader.
Hands on hips
& arch your back
don't forget to smile
...not like that,
Like this.
Position your feet
move that piece of hair
out of your face...
Nevermind just let me do it.
***You sign autographs for little girls
that look up and smile like they want
to be like you,
only wishing you could be
like them again.
Because they're confused by
the smiles on our faces
They think we're happy
They haven't learned to fake their smile, not yet.
I ask them if they had fun
and hand them back their sharpie
they nod their heads and their
little curls and pony tails bounce.
They say thank you like their
moms told them to
And just like that you never see them again ...
In not even ten years from now,
you might have everything in common.
