A poem of teen suicide and some of what causes it... |
A poem based off a drama done by my youth group. The facts are eye opening. Stop teen suicide and save a life. Stand up for the underdog and those hurt around you. Her arms are marked with painful scars, A sharp blade runs across the skin Piercing into the soft thin flesh. Hurt and desperation have caused this A broken heart torn in two Her life shattered into a million pieces No one will know her last words Will anyone ever remember me? Deceiving thoughts fill her mind A snare for any innocent child A quivering hand brings the blade up A quick slash to the neck and she was gone You could have saved her. The night before they had all drank, No one told him it was wrong. They yelled go and he pressed on the gas, a tree stopped them short and his friend flew out. Things left unsaid, buried in blood, Now a gun to his head, a shot and the body goes dead. Now he lays against the cold stone grave. Who will find him? You could have saved him. Shouts and screams flood her ears, they have escaped from the other room. Her parents are splitting. Where will she go? The lid comes off and the pills go down, A simple way to end it all. A gasp and cough, she chokes and falls. You could have saved her. Suicide. A leading cause in teen death. A death every 40 seconds. Alone, Ashamed, Abandoned. Caught up in a downward spiral. You can stop the pain. You can save a life. |
