And still, nothing satisfies

Walking lands with festival feet,
With a hip flask of comfort and
A sweet little melody in my mind.
Through summer clones and winter drones
I think I’m the only one
Playing with patterns of paint cans on
Brick walls and still trains;
Making simple scarves with my mothers traits,
Building friendships from differences and enemies
With similarities.

I’m just playing my little girl role in this
Big, big game of life; of war and race,
Religion and land. And I’m just playing with ideas of
Size and materialistics as well as family and music whilst finding
My self making sense of serenity and complacency.

It’s the idea of creativeness mixed with imagination
Of our wonderlands and my own utopia
Which matters as much as friends and honesty and
Big toothy smiles and good belly laughter.
And I’m just playing around with high school words
And a need to express and communicate
And I’m making shapes with bright eye shadow and baggy clothes
And I’m just rolling around in heavy duvets
Listening to the Long Blondes who tell me
That I’m only nineteen and I don’t need a boyfriend.

But I’m twenty now and I still don’t need
Anything other than my desire to be creative;
A good book and a charming film and
Some songs to dance to and I only want
My family to love me,
My friends to need me,
A big toothy smile and a good belly laugh.

These are all things I get everyday.
