Meditation's Sway

Meditation’s Sway

I sit and close my tired eyes
then slowly drift away
into a world of quiet thought,
in meditations sway.

I need to find some peace of mind.
I want and need to trust
in tangible beliefs, because
my dreams have turned to dust.

The quietude will aid my mind
to contemplate  the past
and look toward a future that
is welcome and is vast.

In preparation for that day
I’ll take some time to spend
a little while reflecting on
life's journey and its end.
