A cat, my namesake. No longer here.
Delicate white paws dipping gingerly into my morning coffee.
Tasting the bitter brew and shaking your head in disgust - only to bounce around the room from the caffeine, then come back for more.

Joining me for a meal of mac, cheese, and tuna fish.
Pulling away a noodle or a piece of tuna to devour on the table next to my bowl;
you could tolerate the garlic pepper, but the hot sauce sent you jumping.

A glass of wine in the evening could bring you running.
Perched on the chair arm, dipping your paw deeper and deeper into the glass, staining your white fur pink.  Then sleeping heavily in my lap when you passed out.

Your raspy tongue dragged across my scalp;
apparently my head needed cleaning more often than my daily routine.

Long car rides as we moved and moved again.
I had no idea a cat could mew so piteously for so, so long.

Settled into a new home.
You got out at night.

You were a good cat.

I miss you.
