A poem about parenting but not so much, just being there for someone. Hard to explain.
Little one
Wake to light
Forget the night
I am here
I'll hold you
Don't cry
Don't cry

So much has happened
You cry again
Sad inside
Nothing to hide
I want to help you
Hold on to me

Little one, little child
I'll hold you're hand
Keep you safe
Be your shelter in this world
Shield you
I'll be you mother missing
Don't hide away
Little one, little child
I'll be the one to love you when you need me

Not much has been said
To help you in this pain
Not much has been told
No one to hold
All alone without light
Hold my hand and it will be okay
I will teach you it all

When the world is so dark
You cry but smile
You seem so strong
I can't believe how you get by
You need someone to walk with you
Through this world
I will

Little one, little child
I'll hold you're hand
Keep you safe
Be your shelter in this world
Shield you
I'll be you mother missing
Don't hide away
Little one, little child
I'll be the one to love you when you need me

Nothing to say
From where you've been
I've seen it to
Mommy's wrong
She lied
Please don't cry
Hold on to me
I'll be your strength

I'll be with you through it all
Save you if you need
Call me when you need me
I'll be there without doubt
No matter how small the problem
I'll be with you to hold your hand

Little one, little child
I'll hold you're hand
Keep you safe
Be your shelter in this world
Shield you
I'll be you mother missing
Don't hide away
Little one, little child
I'll be the one to love you when you need me

For now I see
Your eyes light up
Smiling child
It will be okay
I'll be here when you need me
Call me if you do
Even if I'm not there
I'll be in your heart with you
