When will American politicians become serious?
As The Mighty Knight says, "We must be living in upside down land." Despite the current Administrations' inheritance of the free-falling Clinton economy; despite the catastrophic event of 91101; despite the ills and woes of the housing market; despite of the stock market collapse in the early years of the Bush Administration; the American Economy, the Bush Economy, has grown each and every month with employment being at all-time highs and the unemployment being at all-time lows. In some magical and mythical way, the Bush Economy is said to be the worst ever in the history of our nation. One would think, listening to the Democrat Party presidential aspirants, we are in the throes of the Great Depression Part 2. This is clearly not the case.

It has been said that the Clinton Economy with an unemployment rate of 5.9% was a "nirvana" economy whereas the Bush Economy with an unemployment rate of 4.9% is considered tanking. I would like someone to explain that to me.

The current political atmosphere in the United States should be a cake walk into a land slide victory in taking at last sixty or more seats back in the Lower House and at least twelve seats in the Senate as well as waltzing into the White House on a silver platter. But will it? I think not and here is why: too many years of reversing the effects of Reagan Era Conservatism which resulted in smaller government and more power and money to the citizens of the United States. The GOP, en masse, has abandoned the conservatives of the United States and the principles that led to the greatest economic growth and strength in our nation's history.

This upcoming election should be a tailored made slam dunk to victory for the American People. Will it be? Not hardly. The GOP should be capitalizing on the following: (among others)

A very successful war against terrorists, terrorism and nations promoting and financing terrorism despite errors made after Saddam Hussein was overthrown.

Within the last year, due to the extreme tenacity of General Petraeus and the forces he led, the government of Iraq successfully enabled and enacted 17 of the 18 Benchmarks the enemies of the GOP complained about in all of 2007.

The Iraq Army and National Police have taken up the fight against terrorists and sectarian groups and are fighting bravely against their enemies and are winning.

We have had a roaring economy for the last seven years with the lowest unemployment numbers in our history and the most employed in our history.

Astronomically high and rising crude oil prices due to the direct hindrance of the members of the DNC to allow the USA to be free of foreign oil and the constraints therein for the last thirty plus years.

There are absolutely no viable explanations or causes for the GOP Leadership to be sitting on their collective laurels as the current democrat president aspirants smear, lie and cheat their way into victory at the cost of our National Security. Listening to the Democrat Party, one would think that there were coast-to-coast soup lines.

Does the GOP want a war based upon oil? If they do, they are on the correct track to enable the DNC to place into power in the Congress and White House those that have stated that they will acquiesce to the producers of foreign oil. This has become a Clear and Present Danger to this nation and our economy. There can be no denying that and to hear the news media and politicians claiming that President Bush is the root cause to the soaring gas prices should be met with a resounding truth. President Bush has tried to address this subject of foreign oil dependency but has been met with staunch opposition from the political leadership of the Democrat Party. Of that there can be no doubt due to the matter of public record.

The issue of oil dependency, thanks to the Democrat Party, has become a National Security matter and the President has the authority to act upon the threat upon our National Security. We could begin drilling tomorrow and that alone would give our enemies cause to reflect upon their future if America was suddenly in the position to under cut them in the crude oil market.

If, suddenly, billions of dollars were no longer flowing into their coffers, which make it to our enemies on the battlefields, they would begin to sing a different melody.

The GOP political leaders should be running as if our very existence depended on it, because it does. They should be carrying their soap boxes and preaching from them in every corner of the United States and declaring that if elected, they will drill in ANWR, off the East, West and Gulf Coasts.

They should also be making this known: if we want the Bush tax cuts to become permanent so our taxes don't go up by $3,000, vote us in.

The current political arena is unacceptable. At the risk of our nation's survival, one political party, the Republican Party, is allowing the other political party, the Democrat Party, to run amok in their end game to destroy from within this great nation. We cannot afford to play kid's games with these dangerous cretins whose very tenets are contrary to the United States Constitution. Where in our Constitution is the authorization for the Federal Government for funding health care for everyone, free education for everyone and dismantling our military as Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama so espouse? Where?
