Poem of Bliss, how it is given, taken away, and held on to even in trying times of loss. |
Through all those times, When we talked, cried, were kissed, Even after the final chimes, You handed me bliss. When you hear the wind sing through the trees, What do you think of? When you see the smile on my lips, What do you dream of? I know what I think when the trees sing. I hear how they imitate your voice, but never capture it's perfect ring. That ring- it was choice? Can choice be a sound? Well, it is for me. When I hear your voice yearning, for more than one thing. Do you hear my plea? I don't think you do, Because you are leaving me anyway, Tearing me in two. I know what you think when you see the smile on my lips. Because I see that sparkle in your eyes I know too well. Your eyes, that distant glow; lanterns on ships. But then I dwell on your choice, and I must say farewell. Why don't you understand, That I love you so much? You should know at least, How I treasure your touch. Your touch excites my memories. Of you, those times, and yes- me. I don't want your apologies, I just wanted you to want me. So I hope you miss me. I want you to remember this, Even if you abandon me You gave me bliss. |
