My version of stop and smell the roses before it is too late.
He walked out the door in a rush
He was very quiet, kept it hush
He thought to himself I'll let them sleep in
No need to have their day start when mine begins.

So many thoughts were running through his head
So many so, he didn't enjoy his bed.
He thought to himself so much to do so little me.
He turned over the ignition with his key.

The traffic was awful and the drive slow
Then a break and off he did go.
Shifting from lane to lane, chosing which one to take.
He didn't notice when his taillights did break.

A crash so loud eight cars involved.
Round and round the cars revolved.
The bodies lined up totaled five.
He didn't make it out of the crash alive.

His wife and son were devastated-shattered
Why didn't he wake us up when it really mattered.
Pain and grief they were alone.
The world kept going, it moved on.
