A poem about reminiscense and old love

I was taken back to a memory today
two souls finally meeting
Lips intertwining in a passionate kiss
Time and reality stopped
For a moment like this
But alas the trickery of fate
A sinister game it plays
For these two souls cannot be together
For one chooses not to risk friendship over fate
Their bond, a wish to never break
The other soul is bound by chains
A love pure and true
But never to be
Or so it would seem
But true love has a way
Of showing itself in all sorts of situations
And I remember when you said to me
I'm sorry hunny, but we could never be
As my heart broke apart, tears streamed down my face
You kissed me one last time
To take away my tears
We'll always be friends
And to this word you have been true
But before you left
Do you remember this?
You kissed me softly one last time
Is that the reason why I hold onto this wish?
That the kiss you left me with wasn't the last?
