Your Eyes

As I looked into your eyes
and found your longing stare.
I stopped myself from saying words
that would show how much I care

I put my hands to my face
to hold my feelings in.
I would say the words again
to show that I care for you

The last time I told him
how much he meant to me
he pushed my hand from him
and I knew he wanted me to leave

I never wanted to hear those words again,
for fear of my deep fright.
I thought it was the last time
until that blessing night.

His fingers traced around my face
pushing my hair away
and I was quite unprepared
for what he was to say

My heart beat quickly
My head reaced on
I thought that I might cry
he looked at me with care in his eyes

I never thought I could be happier
with anything he would do
then he took a heartful leap
and told me that he loved me.
