I originally wrote this for a girl in my freshman class. The song I'll Wait applies.
She sits on the outside, reading in silence,
While the one who loves her sits so near.
She is the delicate girl with no friend,
While the one who loves her is so the same.

He drops a paper that contains a love.
He acts like nothing happened to hide the worry.
She picks it up as he bends to retrieve.
She reads it, and her heart resonates.

"So far away, so close in their world
The outsider like me, the reader similar
Beautiful and small, while I stay to work
She has no return, Elyse, the one I love"

She reads it, and is no longer confused,
While the one who loves her attempts to hide.
She finds then the purpose she needs,
While the one who loves her gives in.

They leave with a new awareness,
While peers cheer them on,
Silently and without noise of embarrassment
With Elyse, he is no longer the Lone Wolf.
