Overcoming the bad and letting it strengthen you in the end. Short and sweet...
I can feel the concrete beneath my feet,
The rain's pounding down on me,
And my heart's still skipping beats,
Everything jumps out from behind these walls,
I thought that I knew it all,

That was then,
Before you came into my life,
Pretended you were my friend,
Well that was then,
Before the world went crazy,
And everybody went insane,
Or maybe I did

The wind calls my name,
And it sounds like your voice,
I hear it everywhere,
My lips burn from where you kissed them last,
I keep running away but I can't escape my past,
I thought I could do it all,

That was then,
Before you came into my life,
Pretended you were my friend,
Well that was then,
Before the world went crazy,
And everybody went insane,
Or maybe I did,

The sun is slowly peaking out, starting to shine,
And I know in my heart I still have what's mine,
My integrity, my dignity,
You can't take all of me,
But you took a good part of me away,
That's something I cannot erase,
And this is me now,
Now that you've left my life.

Not really sure I like this one so much either. It's short and simple.... I'm not sure if I like that or not. It kinda reminds me of one of those 'Bonus Tracks' you get on a CD because the artist couldn't actually even include it as a full song on the CD when it first came out. Definitely not a single. hahaha. But I actually did sit down and figure out the vocals and music for this one, and it's pretty. I know you can't here the music behind it, but trust me, it's pretty. Simple.... but pretty.
