For my teacher, who taught me to live, learn, and love.
He’s not ordinary, not in the least,
Not in all the world is he known,
Except in the walls that make us learn,
With all he is, he’s not really here,
He’s like a ghost that wanders,
But never touches ground,
I know he’s higher than I,
Even in my life, and I wish for,
Nothing more than a piece of heaven,
To know he’s teaching me,
With kinder hands than many,
Hands of purity, learning, and love.

He has hair that’s like the fresh earth,
Eyes with beauty and kindness,
Skin the color of crème and sweets,
He is as high as a God from where,
I will forever stand.

I don’t understand him anymore,
But I still trust him with more and more,
Than I could ever know, at least,
In the dark of my life, he has a match,
To give me light. I enjoy that kind,
Entrancing warmth that he sheds.

His name is that of a legend,
But to me, his name is that of an,
All mighty god that has the power,
To teach in all his years,
But I see more than just the power to teach,
I see the might of word, his word is,
In more ways than one, law to me.

But this is not love, not love for,
Those who I wish to bless with a kiss,
But I do grace him with my trust and,
My ears as I learn from his words and listen,
To all of his knowledge,
And I beg to see the world in his eyes,
With all that strength he owns in those,
Eyes of his. He will always reign,
Supreme in all my eyes and all my,
Years. I will, forevermore,
Know that this is not love, this,
In all it’s splendor, is just,
Admiration for a man who can,
Part the sea with is staff like he cuts butter,
And raise me up from the depths,
Of the sea, and give me a new birth,
Into this world.
