A peom about dealing with the contradictions and intricacies of your own heart.
Nothing is certain. The mind, heart, and soul are conflicted.

Torn between wanting and not wanting.

Between love and hate.

Between lonliness and the desire to be independent.

Between self-knowledge and insecurity.

Why do we feel the things we do?

Why do we act the way we do?

Why can't life be simple?

I want to be happy. But what is true happiness?

I want to sing, but my voice is out of tune.

I want to dance, but my legs are shackled.

I want to write, but I can't find the words to express my emotions.

My words appear on paper to be shallow and reek of cliches.

If you could only see into the real me. Behind the facade I present to the world.

Inside me are feelings and emotions running wild. How do I set them free?

How do I find a balance? How do I become happy with myself?
