Exceedingly

My soul longs to be loved unconditionally.

Its a given gift,
wrapped in a bow--
shiny, new, incredible.

It welcomes my smiles,
lavishes my laughs,
rushes with cheers,
embraces my fears.

Where is the love that I languish to find?

Standing on the soapbox spewing issues of its past.

Browsing unconsumed as life whimpers exceedingly fast.

Waiting, skating, skirting its duties,
not wanting to invest itself fully.
