I'm rollin' down a hard road
with my diesel engine wound,
and this heavy haulin' truckload
is North Dakota bound.

The thunder clouds off to the west
are blacker than the night.
There's a diner at the next hill's crest,
off the shoulder, to the right.

across the great divide,
