The darkness of diminishing faith.
I seek him and grow weary
My life yearns for the dust of the grave
Joy no longer is with me
Where is he who saves

My prayers go unheeded
Alone I fight to believe
And though I know not if he is with me
I don't think he would deceive

Can trust endure forever
Will faith deliver my anguished soul
Love mourns its loss inside me
And my heart has turned so cold

Evil doth flourish and prosper
Righteousness can not be viewed
My soul waivers in it's hope
As his word is readily eschewed

How long the saints do wonder
Will judgement never come
Like them I'm tried with patience
As time continues to numb

Magnificent was his creation
Such purpose with life's desire
Where is this person I once was
Who hath quenched that inner fire

Now behold the depth of darkness
The loathing of my distress
Poverty is my communion
The pit all I may bequest

Remove me from the living
Let shame of flesh be no more
In the balance am I judged
My lack I can not endure

Woe to the dreams once mine
And riches to make content
Their odor to me is foul
For there virtue has all been spent

Call forth for me I ask you
Let not nature end my days
Take me before tomorrow
Stop this needless pain

Don't leave me here without you
And hide your face away
You are the who I seek
The I am the ancient of days
