I AM ME


I am beautiful because I am me

I am here for the entire world to see

Chubby, overweight and just so sweet

To know me I think is a great treat


I used to think that it mattered that I really was not so cute

I used to think that it mattered that I wore a size 20 suit.

Then I realized what made me special and you should too

It is not what you look like to others it’s what you look like to you.


Being who you are and knowing yourself is what really does count

The opinions of others that might be negative should not let you frown

Remember that they are just opinions and the only thing you should know that’s true

Is that everyone in the world is special and good at something so are you.


Do not think that looks are what makes a person great

It’s hard work, kindness and caring for others that might you rate

I grew up not so cute and very uncoordinated but really smart

I am sending this to all of you right from my heart.


I grew up getting picked on in school and not very pretty. I see how people treat each other and how they judge you by the way you look and not by who or what kind of person you are. That is so very sad. I realized when I was so overweight when I went into a store to buy a present for someone else and the sales girl told me that I was not in the right place because nothing in that store would fit me, I needed to do something about it. I lost a lot of weight and I am no longer overweight. However, I have never and will never judge a person by how they look or whether they are pretty or handsome. Beauty comes from inside and is reflected on the outside by the way we treat others.
