Something I came up with in Mid-November after hearing about my aunt's husband passing.

I’m wondering if you’re up there
Looking down at me at night.
I feel cold and all alone sometimes
And I miss you all the time.
Can’t come to you for guidance anymore
Because you’re no longer around
I find myself in tears sometimes
Sleep alone to the echo of that sound

Could you send down a sign?
Show me that you’re up there
Embrace me with some spiritual love,
As if you were still here
Follow me down this path;
And Make sure I do right
Wake up with me in the morning
Go to sleep with me at night

I look up to the sky and smile
With a feeling so content
I know your watching me from up there
Helping me bare the cross we once shared
I feel you watching me
It supports me all the way
Your love never-changing
Gets me through my day

With your help and guidance
I know I’ll make it through
I’ll get to stand in God’s presence
And once again be with you
But for now you’re up in heaven
And I’m still on this earth
Only memories to hold on to
But From them
I can remember you
