"...A wide assortment of colorful and plain donuts awaiting my grateful choosing..."
The donut shop is brightly lit amid the dark, hectic morning
Before dawn. Hot and tasty coffee is brewing in the machine
Behind the counter, and the wide assortment of colorful and
Plain donuts awaits my grateful choosing. Behind the counter is
A beautiful young Asian girl, full of polite smiles and courteous
Service. Her youthful charm and graceful personality enliven
The establishment with the noble attraction of men and the
Invitation of even more lively chat. I am once again in awe of
Her bubbling effervescence and her attractive sparkle.  I order
Some cake donuts with sprinkles and a rejuvenating cup of joe,
And try to think of what to say to her. My mind draws a blank -
How do you ask someone to have a cup of coffee with you?

The men entering the shop constantly admire her and speak
Hospitably towards her, licking their lips as they take a chair
In the half-filled store. The hungry crowd of men, women, and
Children changes every 10 to 15 minutes, while the lovely
Asian girl and her helpful mother and father serve the donuts
And give money back to the eager customers looking to hurry
On to their busy days ahead. I glower at my precise watch -
It is time to matriculate to my class at nine. I look at her
Hungrily as I pay for my refill. I leave with a polite nod and
A wave of my hand, saying "Bye, thanks!" and leave the store
Hoping to get to know her much more intimately.
