One heartbreaking memory
fills my eyes with tears,
Like mountain reservoirs
filled with winter runoff.
A solitary teardrop
trickles down my cheek,
as a river would flow
through a canyon.
The teardrop falling
from my chin is
the river cascading
down its waterfall.
Suddenly, the tears
run free
like the river
flooding its banks.
Eventually, the tears
stop coming.
A rainbow glimmers
over a teardrop river.
