The Day

I thought she cared,
All those years,
Lost in a day.
She was the only one I trusted.
Took years to get there,
But she crushed me.
It’s not a shock,
I knew it would happen,
The day I met her.
But after years of her pretending to care,
I though she might keep going,
Instead of ditching me.
But no,
I should have known it was soon to come.

Coming back,
Impossible,
I will forever have theses scars.
I trusted once in my life,
It was a mistake,
Now I can never trust again.

Years from now I will remember her,
She’ll be unchanged,
Not even noticing I’m gone.
While I’m still drowning in pain.

She taught me I couldn’t trust,
And I hate her for it.
But on the other hand,
She taught me not to trust,
And I won’t make the mistake again.
