CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS It was just a few days until Christmas and I was feeling rather down and out. I had no money for presents this year, the Christmas Spirit left me in doubt. I tried counting all my many blessings, taking some paper and a pen in hand. I had to find a way to see all that I had to be thankful for, to try to understand. A roof over my head and a warm bed were the obvious blessings I claimed. Food on the shelf, ashamed of myself, I continued to write all that remained. Christmas lights brightened the night and the carolers singing was grand. Friends stopping by, cards saying "Hi" made the season better than planned. I put away the list, knowing I'd missed the meaning of Christmas all along. It's the caring and sharing that matters I'd been going about this all wrong! Christmas blessings are all around us if we will just open our eyes up to see. Jesus is still the reason for the season, we can share with friends and family. A hug and smile makes life worthwhile when there is nothing else we can give, It's the caring and sharing that matters, that we remember as long as we live! Countrymom MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE! |
