The next chapter in the 'red glow' series

I knew as soon as I saw her that she was the one. She looked so small, so fragile, hunched over her computer, her long black hair hanging in her face. Every so often she would look up as if seeing me – impossible of course, but the look on her face told me otherwise. In a matter of minutes she was in my arms, her breath warm and sweet caressing my face, my senses overwhelmed by her. It took all my restraint not to take her right then and there. I touched her with my lips, whispered her name, losing myself to her -        when she said it. Something she could not possible know -  no one knew! But she did, drawn to me as I was to her, she instinctively knew and it stopped me in my tracks.
“Cyrus” she screamed the force of it throwing me back, my eyes wide with shock. She seemed surprised by my reaction and took the opportunity in my relaxed grip to scramble out from under my arms. I watched her, my mouth hanging open, as she fell off the bed and struggled to get to her feet. Clearly she was shaken. She was so vulnerable standing there, like a deer frozen, waiting for the danger to pass. I smiled and got to my feet. Slowly advancing towards her I whispered her name, ‘Mia’. I reached out to touch her hair, her face, my fingertips brushing her eyelashes, now wet with tears. ‘Please’ she whispered ‘Don’t hurt me’. That shocked me – hurt her? How could I ever hurt her? I pulled her close to me, to let my body say the things I couldn’t. She resisted at first then her body went limp and I realized she had fainted.

It was some time before she woke, locked in my arms, her warm breath tantalising my senses. Her eyes fluttered open and I bent to kiss her, to show her how much I cared for her. I could hear her blood pumping through her veins, her pulse rapid. She tasted so sweet, her lips so soft and receptive, unlike any other I had met before. Surely this angel was made for me as I, a demon of the night was made for her. Because it wasn’t only fear that made her pulse rapid, with each kiss I could feel her growing more responsive, her arms tentatively encircling my neck.  She sighed – the sweetest sound in the world – as I bent my head to her neck, feeling her pulse throbbing against my lips. My hands caressed every inch of her from her soft breasts, over her stomach to the swelling of her hips. She gripped my neck tighter, burying her face into my hair, moaning as I ran my hand up her thigh.  Bolder now, I moved my hand higher, and she arched against me no longer afraid. She barely noticed when I sank my teeth into her neck, her hot blood slowly filling my mouth. A shallow bite for I didn’t want to hurt her, only fulfil my need as I embraced her own. Her moans were more earnest now, her hands rough in my hair, pulling me closer to her. Her breath was coming quicker now, short pants accompanied her moans, her muscles tightening. I looked up from her neck, my teeth dripping blood, and I stared into her eyes as she orgasmed, her look of fright fleeting as she lost herself to my touch. Breathless, she leaned against me, her pulse slowing, her breathing returning to normal. I bent to kiss her, her blood still wet on my lips. She didn’t resist only sighed contentedly when she tasted herself, hot and salty. The bleeding on her neck had slowed, and I took one last lick of her before pulling away.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I let her sleep after that, knowing how the loss of blood can tire mortals out. She was so sweet lying there, her hair a messy frame around her face, her hands curled up under her chin. I had dressed the wound on her neck and straightened her clothes, she offered no resistance. It wasn’t long before she was asleep and I had time to think. She knows what I am, she knows my name, I should kill her straight away. But looking at her sleeping form, so childlike, I knew that I couldn’t. The urge to protect her was overwhelming. I sighed and turned away, reaching for her notepad. I wrote quickly and left the note taped to her monitor, a bloody kiss instead of a signature. What she thought of me in the morning, I didn’t know. All I knew was that she was now mine, and the devil help anyone who tried to take her away from me – including herself.
