“Lord, I Praise You In All I Do”

Standing at the wall
Reading the names off,
One at a time
As the rain washes over;
Each one.

I think about all the things they did
Over there in no man’s land,
Giving their all and a whole lot more
To protect our way of life.
And that’s when I realized
That freedom don’t come free.

“Someone had to die
Someone had to sacrifice,
To keep us free;
Someone had to suffer
In pain and agony,
So the rest of us
Could sleep in peace;
Someone had to die
For what was right,
Cause freedom don’t come free”.

Standing in the church
At the alter,
Staring at that man
Up on that rugged cross;
I can’t believe he died for me.

I think about what the Bible says
How he healed the blind man,
And made the deaf to hear again
Oh but most of all;
How he gave his life for everyone
To free the world from sin,
All because he knew
That freedom don’t come free.
