A poem about how people, and events in our lives change us everyday. |
I will never be the same. By Chrisp Sometimes I never know. Sometimes I never understand. Just a fact of life, I will never be the same. A baby is born, a parent dies. Tears surrender to what I can not say. I will never be the same. One snow flake falls, on summer’s day, lightest touch to my face. How can I forget, what I do not understand. I will never be the same. Rare to find a diamond on the beach, with so many dull grains of sand. It shines so bright it takes my breath away. I will never be the same. Happiness sings if only for a moment, but sadness also speaks; her story weights heavy on my heart. I will never be the same. Time passes so fast, I must give in to sleep; though I fight it all the way. I will never be the same. My memories soar above the clouds, and then I land again, assaulted by the world. Love and Hope are all I have; I hang my head in shame. I will never be the same. What can I offer a world, for which I do not know? I close my eyes to wake again. The memories linger on. Only time will tell if they fade away; for now I hope they stay. I will never be the same. |
