books, life, and a melody keep this girl alive
Mary Stone was….reading silently

Some old story, same old story

They don’t notice her

But she notices them

As they walk right by

Sometimes she wonders why

She’s even alive

Even though she looks

Happy she is not

Look into her eyes

Her life is a lie

But that melody

Oh so softly

Keeps her sane

What else does she got

Besides her books

She is not fun

She doesn’t have the looks

They don’t know she’s being pushed

Straight over the edge

Shes on the brink of insanity

But that melody

Oh so softly

Keeps her sane

But the pendulum

Is about to stop

So she sings softly to herself

La la la la la la la la

La la la la la la la la

Everything’s going to be fine

Just fine

Mary Stone was… crying softly

On the 10th story, same old story

They don’t notice her

But she notices them

Hateful parents asking why

She’s even alive

Beer and cigarettes

Arent helping the cause

And drunken parents

Are the worst of them all

They don’t even care

But that melody

Oh so softly

Keeps her alive

What else does she got

Besides her books

She has no friends

She has no looks

So she sings softly to herself

La la la la la la la la

La la la la la la la la

Everything’s going to be fine

Just fine

Mary Stone was…. Resting silently

In the cementary, same old story

She was finally pushed over the edge

But not by her, but her father

She didn’t know she was getting pushed over the edge

Of the 10th story

But that melody

Oh so softly

Is what she sang

As she fell straight down

La la la la la la la la

Everything will be just fine

Mary Sone was, at peace finally
