Contest Just For ME!

WRITTEN FOR A RHYMING POETRY CONTEST

Hey, hey, come see
This is a contest just for me!
I rhyme when I write and review
I rhyme when I simply talk to you.

I rhyme when I teach (well not quite)
I rhyme to the left, I rhyme to the right.
I rhyme when I email, I rhyme when I text
I rhyme, I rhyme, on any pretext.

I've come across a contest
For the rhyme that's best!
Come on up, beat the rest
Put your rhyming to the test!

So I'm thinking - and this is absurd
I can't come up with a rhyming word!
Hmmm - June rhymes with Moon
An idea! June, Moon! Write it soon!

June - Moon. Let's proceed
In June the garden has no weed.
Oh oh, that sounds forced
That particular line is not endorsed.

Go on, go on, think think think.
I can't! There are dishes piled in the sink.
Okay, wash up then, and think as you scrub
Think while you're jogging, think in the tub.

Think think think, you've to submit
Pretty quick - Get on with it, git, git!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, this is bad timing
I can't come up with ANYTHING rhyming.

So, dear judge, no entry for this round
Should I think of something, I'll come with a bound.
I'll try a poem out for size,
And hopefully, I'll win a prize!
