Tale of a lost child |
There once was a little boy There once was a little boy With thick hair of sandy brown. He had the most beautiful hazel eyes, That no comparison could be found. There once was a little boy With a playful laugh and smile. It stole his mother’s heart away, It's been gone for quite a while. There once was a little boy Who left the house one day. No matter how much his mommy tried, He would not come home to stay. There once was a little boy. Now my heart is breaking inside. Because I know he will never be seen Again before this body dies. There once was a little boy And now my story is told. I have no more reason to live Or watch my body grow old. There once was a little boy. How it breaks my heart to admit That maybe, just maybe, before he was gone My fight had already quit. There once was a little boy Who needed a better mother Than I could ever be for him And so he went to another. There once was a little boy That I cry for each day since his loss And then listen to the demons taunt That tell me his love I did toss. There once was a little boy. I am now quite depressed. William, my son, is gone for good. I pray for the peace that is death. |
