My mind erratic,
thoughts like static
Can't see clear,
don't know what to fear.
State the obvious,
negate the facts
Knowledge is atomic,
simple, and ironic.
Don' stray off,
bring it back
Too many thoughts,
can't keep track.
Modest soul;boisterous mind
Civil War that lasts a lifetime.
Feeding my hunger,
entranced in wonder
As a poor man's concience,
is thanked with indignance.
Religion and science too perfect a pair,
poor can't ignore and rich don't care.
Patience is a double edged sword,
surplus regretted and drought unadored.
Perception is reality,
A cliche of our duality.
'Of Mice and Men', one day a hero next a rat,
the mind's eye is the only judge of that.
I don't know why we can't understand,
no single answer for the question at hand.
We stress to death "only one way to live"
and life slips through hand like a sieve.
Let fear be a magnet and you be steel,
for when held close it loses it's feel.
My words aren't stone just rapids in a river,
to shake up thought and make reason quiver.
