The glass isn't half full or empty. A poem quesitoning a little of everything.
They say I'm crazy...
Trapped inside my head.
Hearing only anger and pain along with loneliness.
I dream and think of things beyond comprehension.
What if I do want to harness the sun's energy...
To destroy this, the only planet I've known.
All the hate, the wars, and treachery...
Not even comparable to the hurt love brings.
These scary voices of mine...
Drowning out the sane voices.
They scar my mind with dark thoughts...
My only friends through thick and thin.
They tell me to destroy as though Pandora's box was opened...
But look down there, a child is curled in the corner.
It looks up at me...
And I know it's name...Hope.
We might destroy everyone we hate...
but there is still hope.
We might destroy everyone we love...
but there is still hope.
When you think of the pain and emptyness...
don't forget about happiness.
A broken man, on his last shred...
"Can you spare a dollar sir?"
The smile from the lady you have no chance with...
knowing she's going back to her abusive relationship.
You pull off the side of the road...
To step out and sit on the fresh cut grass along the road.
Is this world worth destroying...
Would it really make it that much easier?
You say you believe in god...
I believe in none.
You, more than I, have something to live for...
To spread their teachings and help the fallen children.
Even if you don't believe fully...
That faith is enough to get your friends to their next day.
Is there anything left inside me that can be called man?
Those few thoughts and this heartbroken child...
I am crazy...
I am mad.
