Amazing

Truly, I am nothing short of amazing.
Not because I'm substantially beautiful.
Not because I am incredibly intelligent.
Not even because I'm nicer than most people.
I'm none of those things.

I'm amazing because I learn.
Crowds of people don't gain wisdom.
Many people keep making the same unfortunate mistakes.
Some people let the hurts of their past rule their future.
I do none of those things.

My life is not grand or even special.
It's a life in which I choose to move forward.
I will not allow myself pity.
Nor will I take steps through paths I've already been.
I will move in a new direction.

I am not coldhearted or callus.
Certainly, I have cried tears of pain.
Undoubtedly, I wish my past choices had been right.
Most definitely, I grieve for dissolved relationships.
My tears have run dry, and my life will soon be better.

Because I learn from my experiences my future will be filled with much less pain than my past or present.
