had to write this for an english class I took. you might like it
To feel or not to feel, that is the question
Whether 'tis wiser to open up
And risk vulnerability by sharing emotions
Or to keep everything inside
And feel numb

To speak, to hurt -
No more - and by a word to say that I won't
Be alone anymore, although revealing my
Worries, doubts, and fears might cause
More harm than remaining silent - thus I would
Rather not talk at all.

To stress, to worry -
To worry, perchance to wound. Ay, there's the dilemma.
For wounding leads to scars, both emotional and physical.
It is not worth is to me, to go through the pain of keeping
Everything bottled up, to keep everything hidden.
Talking to someone could turn out to be better in the end.

For who wants to feel invisible and be
Discriminated because of their opinions
Shunned because they are not perfect
Judged by what they believe
Ignored because they might not act normal
And humiliated because of their differences,
When everyone has felt insecure about
Something at some point in their lives?

Who would risk everything, to reveal personal
Secrets and passions and dreams,
But that the feelings of assurance, love,
Understanding and relief might
Tempt me to communicate
With others - to let out all of the anger and stress
Felt inside - knowing that I'm not alone?

Thus being able to feel secure is an appealing fate
And the fears of vulnerability are being
Lured away by the comforts of being understood and
Believed in, I might find myself traveling toward the bright
Aspects of my future, knowing that life is too
Amazing and beautiful to waste away, feeling insecure and alone.
