This poem dances between mindsets and the glasses through which we all view the world.
He said "i like your style"
She told him her ducks refused
To stand in a line
Until they were ordered
She'd be real bad news
He kissed her and
She told him he did it all wrong
He took her out and
She demanded to pay for her half
He said he lives for passion
She says she just lives to live
He says he sees wildfires in her eyes
Hidden but burning ardor
She explained the flames were of dissatisfaction
And a need for change until she found her place
He wants her to know who he is
And she doesn't mind not being understood
She points out his flaws
He thinks she's wonderful
She tells him she's inconsistent and strange
But she still makes him want to be some cool rock star
He'll tell her he felt used
She'll reply saying she was terrible
They travel in dizzying circles
Sometimes taking midnight rides to nowhere
Simple midnight conversation and company
She still calls him with her biggest problems
And when she comes to tears
Swears she's sick and not crying
he tells her it will be rough, but okay
She tells him he's her deity
He tells her she's a fox
He wants her nails on his back
And he'll even light candles in the room
She's exhausted and just wants sleep
He wants to feel her fervor
She says it's just frustration
His hands are soft, hers are rough and calloused
he's persistent, will never quit
She's too stubborn and she's displaced
He says she's cute and he's, with her, content
She says she's a wreck and he's crazy
He likes pictures of them together
She'd rather be a photographer than a model
He thinks her earrings are ridiculous
But he'll play with them when he plays with her hait
He buys her coffee, looks into her eyes
She makes jokes about the couple at the next table
He says it's impossible not to adore her
She says the world's a mess
He tells her life and decisions are tough
She says to him "chaos is inevitable"
He says it's beautiful
She wants to spit off the roof
And he wants to dance on it
He said he wants to get inside her head
She says it's a dangerous place
