“Oh, boy there is going to be rumble in the jungle, chirped George a rue faces monkey as he swung from branch to branch.
“What’s all this hooting about can’t an owl get some sleep before the sun sets.”
Lil Kai has gone to the falls alone.
“What do you mean alone interrupted” Anthony Tapir.
“Well he and the other children have gone to the great falls with out any elders.”
“Well we better go and look for them added Kamudi. “
“Yes, yes Nicolas is hungry and there is nothing more delicious than young children to that hungry feline Owen concluded.”

“Where is this great water fall of yours” William rudely inquired.
“Yes my bunions are aching me chimed in Julian.”
“I will have to agree we have been walking for a pretty long time lil Kai I am hungry” Michael the eldest added finally.
Lil Kai turned with great anger well if you want to return to the elders you are free to go.
The boys all looked behind them and saw only dense over growth of forest they would never be able to find their way back. With all the frightening stories they had heard form Uncle Johnny they had no intention on trekking alone in the rainforest.

Lil Kai him self had began to wonder it was usually just a short walk when he makes it with Cyuni and Mazaruni but now he was sure he was absolutely positively with out a doubt lost!

The animals had dispersed into all directions to locate the children Kamudi swam the potaro, George swung from to tree to tree, Anthony trotted as fast as he could, while Owen decided to return to sleep.

It had been high noon when the elders discovered that the children had gone and they dispersed in search of them.
Then the rain came poring down putting a halt to most people’s effort but the animals carried on. Rain or sunshine they were always active.
“What is this? A bunch of lonely young one” Cougar cried yearning for her own lost young. She walked up to the band of boys all of whom were scared at the sight of a cougar ,except lil Kai he was accustom to all the animals of the wild and non scared him. He ran over to her and petted her like as if she was a baby kitten, then mounted her. Cougar ran in circles entertaining the boys whom by that time were now relaxed. Lil Kai introduced himself and his friends then informed her where they were off to, Cougar realized they were in on the wrong path for the falls were on the other side of the forest.

The boys had been walking under the canopy trees for such a long time that they had not realize that it was night but never the less decided to look for fruits to eat. Michael returned with beautiful large sweet carambolas, Julian found some fallen water coco nuts, William had a large sour sop and a few sugar apple in his grips and Lil Kai balanced successfully four large pine apple, a bunch of awara, a few mangoes and last but not least huge white lady guava.
The boys sat down to feast and then before they knew it they all fell asleep upon Cougar abdomen as if it was a great pillow.

At sun rise they knew that they were in trouble for the elders would certainly have missed them by now. The only problem was they didn’t know how to find their way home or how to get to the falls either.
Lil Kai had decided to continue his journey in search of the falls and had gone in search for more fruits and vegetables for breakfast.
“My goodness I am so hungry I could eat a lion” said Julian as he sprawled in the morning sunshine. Figuratively I mean.” After realizing that there was a large female Cougar sitting besides him.
After breakfast Cougar led the boys down the path which would take them to the other side of the forest.
Owen had spotted the boys the night before and had informed the group of their location.
By morning George was swinging from tree to tree to find the spot.
He had met up with Anthony and they were keeping close eyes on the children.
George swung from tree to tree throwing fruits at the boys and keeping them entertained and filled.

Growl !!, there was a loud sound which stopped the boys in there track, an even fiercer ferocious jaguar pranced out at the group.
Cougar ran to face off Nicolas.
“Oh Cougar darling so you have brought brunch for me how very thoughtful of you my dear cousin.”
“They are nobody’s meal Nicolas; go your way we have a long journey to continue.”
“Now, now Cougar manners make it man what about us we are far more superior to them. There is enough for us both to share in, then after feasting we’ll go down to the lake and have high tea Alligator is throwing a party.”
“They are children Nicolas.”
“They are children of mankind they’ll grow up and come back as adults to hunt and kill you and me. Now enough of this unnecessary chit chat lets dine. Cougar don’t tell me you are still grieving over you lost ones.”
“Why should I grieve when I know very well a certain feline devoured them?”
Nicolas sprang out at cougar and a duel began, the boys ran for shelter in the nearby trees hoping that the Jaguar was not a good climber.

“Kamudi, Kamudi” bellowed Anthony.
“Do you know it is rude to interrupt me when I am feasting?”
“There is big trouble Nicolas is attacking Cougar and the children are all scattered.”
“Well why didn’t you say that before let’s go.”
Kamudi Slithered as fast as he could and found Nicolas savaging Cougar. He quickly rapped himself around Nicolas squeezing him as hard as possible.
“Get off of me you stupid serpent.”
Kamudi squeezed even harder then advanced to the face of Nicolas. “Corrections my feline aggressor I am a snake not a serpent and at that a hungry one.”
Nicolas fell to the ground feeling exhausted and angry growling of revenge.
Cougar lay injured and saddened unable to continue the journey. Lil kai and the boys gathered branched to shelter her from the sun sitting and subbing for the lost of their guide.

“Well lets get on with it Lil Kai “commanded his troops.
One by one they followed lil Kai deeper into the rainforest.
Cervinea heard little feet approaching her as she stood at the lake of crystals. she looked up to see five lost little boys making their way up to her.
Lil Kai walked swiftly to greet the beautiful dear which stood still and listened to him.
“I am lil Kai and am afraid that my friends and I am awfully lost and would like to find the great water fall, can you guide us.”
Cervinea was delighted she was on her way to the other side of the Potaro and was glad for the company. Happily she joined the group and led the way.
At mid afternoon they had reached the mighty Potaro but wanted to cross the river to the other side to see the rock formation.
Legend had it that the chief Kai and his wood skin canoe were turned into stone and became part of the rocks which formed the base of Kaieteur.
Cervinea called out to chelonia a great large leather back turtle who happily agreed to ferry the boys on her back to the other side.
Starting from the Pakarimas mountain range, the Potaro falls smoothly from the escarpment over the worlds longest single drop water fall, looking up the boys were awed by the majestic site which stood 251 feet above them they were happy to find the great fall.
The journey was over they had found the falls, now they had to find home before some other villain found them.
