Gently shaking me of the day's unrelenting tension
Tiny droplets of rain whisper words of their own invention

Calming my hurt, my anger and easing my bottled up pain
I trace the pattern on the window, made by the rain

Coming down in sheets and torrents, then slowing to a soft pitter-patter
On the roof, millions of diamond-like beads splash and splatter

The trance of the sounds bring to me simple explanation
On the naked body, it brings incredible sensation

Innocent it falls in an emotion so precious
The feelings surface, unavoidable and infectious

Tear drops from the heavens leave nothing to lack
Loneliness recalled, faded memories flood back

Rain is an overflow of grief from the skies
Seen only by that of a writer's eyes

Find beauty in it's sadness and hope in it's pain
Let the child inside you play in the rain
