Over the years, I have had my share of good dates and bad. After dating this guy for about two months, he took advantage of me and I should have known better, but like some women who believed in helping and have good hearts, I helped my ex-boyfriend get back on his feet and swore he would pay me back but ended up taking him to court and winning my case. After i had him out of my life, I re-connected with my friend from North Carolina. We have been friends for about 8 years before he moved up, but this time was different. Kevin and I had met on-line at Love at AOL.com and because he lived in NC and I lived in New Jersey, we remained friends. On Halloween weekend, 2003 I flew down to NC and met my future husband and it was love at first sight. We decided to still remain as friends at first because of the miles between us but after a few visits between us, on Father's Day, 2004 Kevin and I were engaged to be married and in October, 2005 we became husband and wife. So for all of you who are out there who are just about ready to give up on the opposite or same sex because they have hurt you, don't. Your one TRUE love may just be right around the corner.
