The child within

I watched the ocean, helplessness surrounded me.  The world was too much.  Death would be a release.  As I stood on the edge, prepared to jump, a child spoke from behind.  “God will never give you more than you can handle.”

Calmness came over me.  I turned to thank the child, but he was gone.
