I miss you and wish you were here with us....
Your eyes shone like the beaming sun
And your smile flowed like a river,
Your love felt like a job well done
Because your words agreed with the actions they delivered.

The gleam in your eye gave me a smile
I could see the love bursting out,
Your warm touch lasted for miles
And reassured my fears and doubts.

Sometimes I wonder the meaning
Of why you were taken without notice,
The void left my heart stinging
Knowing the healing was hopeless.

I should be happy and not cry
You left in body but not soul,
I don't understand why you had to die
Unable to accomplish your goals.

To you this is about
The one who had so much love,
Your example brought our love out
Now we can only feel it from above.

I asked God, why you instead of me
The pain too intense to bear,
You always helped others to see
Their goodness without any glare.

It's no wonder people were stunned
Sorry not to have you here,
With you, no one was ever shunned
Because you were so full of cheer.

You attacked life with such might
Smashing down barriers that stood in your way,
Almost, like you had the foresight
That you didn't have long to stay.

I can still feel you talking to me
Guiding me through each day,
Your words are the light that allows me to see
As you help me find my way.

I miss you so very much
Just like so many others do,
I have to use your loss as a crutch
To give me the courage to love as you.

I want you to know, you aren't misunderstood
I know that we are confused,
Why God insisted on taking away your good
Leaving us with only memories of you.
