Tree Of Love

The old chapter is written
And it's time to start anew.
It's nowhere I was gettin',
Things were feeling pretty blue.

But then a seed was planted,
In this ever changing life.
The one I took for granted,
That's the one I really like.

See, friendship was the blossom,
That was branching into love.
Which stopped and played the possum,
But new flowers came to bud.

Each conversation leads me,
To new hope and strengthened roots.
Which plants the tree so deeply,
That hard rains just bring new chutes.

Now as this tree keeps growing,
It's producing sweeter fruit.
That springs out almost glowing,
In comparison minute:

To what truly holds the key,
God will open our heart's door.
Which will broaden up the tree,
That was but a seed before.

Just one chapter underway,
In this man's life long story.
That seems to scream, "Brighter day!"
While sprouting into glory.
